Maui Nani (Beautiful Maui) - by Johannna Koana Wilcox

Hanohano `o Maui mai kinohi mai
Kuahiwi kilakila o Haleakalâ
Maika`i na hono a`o Pi`ilani
Ha`aheo `o Maui nani Lanikêhau

Uluwehi ka hi`ona o na wai `eha
Na wai kaulana ma ke komohana
Wai miliani `ia e ka malu o ke ao
Ha`aheo `o Maui `âina kamaha`o

Kaulana e ka ua Laniha`aha`a
Ke kupa aiwaiwa nani la a`o Hana
`Ano`ai Ka'uiki au i ke kai
Ha`aheo `o Maui ka wai `anapanapa

Puana ka wehi ho`ohenoheno
No ka pua miulana nani i ka hano
Me `oe ka welina o ku`u aloha
Ha`aheo `o Maui nani Lanikeha
Regal has Maui been from its beginning
With majestic Haleakala, an imposing sight
And the charming bays of Pi`ilani
Maui is stately with sublime beauty

Lush with verdure are four towns
Well known towns of West Maui
Towns fondly caressed by sheltering skies
Maui is stately with wonders untold

Famous is the rain pouring from low skies
Ethereal native of Hana
Greetings to Ka`uiki reaching into the sea
Maui is famed for the waters that sparkle

Now ends my song of adulation
To the lovely muilana hereby honored
To you, my warm greetings
Maui, you are stately and supremely beautiful
