Haleakalâ Hula - Traditional

Ha`aheo ka mokuahi Haleakalâ
Ka mahimahi o ka Pakipika

Ho`okomo i ke awa nani
A`o Kuhiô Bay

O ke kani kaplalulu a ke oeoe la
Me ka hae Hawai`i e welo ana

Ua ola kâkou e na kini
Hai Hawai`i a Maui `o Kama

Ha`ina `ia mai ana ka puana
Ka mahimahi o `Alenuihâhâ

Proud is the ship Haleakalâ
The dolphin of the Pacific

It entered the beautiful harbor
Of Kuhiô Bay

There was the blaring of the whistle
And the waving of the Hawaiian flag

This is a great help to all of our people
From Hawai`i to Maui, island of Kama

This is the end of my song
Of the dolphin of the `Alenuihâhâ
