Nani Wale Ka Mahina (Beautiful Moonlight) - Traditional

Nani wale e ka mahina
Konane e ka pô la`i

Kukui mâlamalama
O ke aupuni a na hila

He `ônohi pua kaimana
Ke ola pau kaukani

A`e a`e kau i ka ni`o
I ka nalu he`e i ka lala

Huki pa`a kou pohilima
`Oni `ole ke aupuni

Kuhi e ko`u mana`o
Maluna o ka `âina

Ha`ina mai ka puana
Nani wale e ka mahina

So beautiful, the moon
Lighting the peaceful night

Candle brightening
The earth and hills

Like the center of a diamond
With a thousand hues

We do honor to
The waves which move about us

Pulling hard with the palms of your hands
You are unable to move the earth

My thoughts focus
Above the land

Tell the story
So beautiful is the moon
